The Paducah Police Department, several local retailers and LiveView Technologies are working together to help stop the spike of retail crime during the holiday shopping season.
Paducah Police said the city has been chosen as one of two cities to participate in a pilot project called "ACCESS Task force," which stands for The Alliance of Companies and Communities to Enhance Safety and Security.
It's a project in which mobile camera units are set up at various retail locations throughout the city to help reduce crime and provide a safer shopping environment for citizens.
The cameras have been placed at businesses in Paducah by LiveView Technologies at no cost to the city and will be in place for the next several months.
