The Illinois Department of Transportation is planning a work zone on the I-24 Ohio River bridge to begin Monday and continue for two weeks.
Crews will be doing a comprehensive inspection of the bridge structure, starting on the eastbound side on Monday morning through Friday. The work zone will be in place daily from 8 am until 5 pm.
Next Monday, Dec. 9, inspection will begin on the westbound lanes.
The inspections are taking place in preparation for the launch of a three-year rehabilitation project on the I-24 Ohio River bridge starting next spring.
