Our final days in the 90s, then rain and plenty of fall temps

This week should be our last venture into the 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Above normal highs in the upper 80s and low 90s are expected Wednesday and Thursday, followed by cooler temperatures in the low and mid 70s beginning Friday and continuing into the weekend.

A cold front begins to move in from west to east early Friday morning, bringing rain showers in the morning and early afternoon afternoon hours. No severe weather is expected but some thunder is possible.

Small rain chances linger Saturday, but high pressure will build Sunday bringing dry conditions once again.

Highs next week in the low 70s are actually a few degrees below the historical daily averages around 76 for Paducah.

Record highs in October reach the 90s only through Oct. 10, except for one other day, Oct. 19 back in 1938.
