Attempt to serve warrant nets two others in Marshall County

An attempt to serve an arrest warrant at a home in Marshall County netted two others on drug charges.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies tried to serve the warrant just after 10 p.m. Friday at a home on Rudolph Road. Two other men in the home were reportedly found with drugs, and one had a weapon. The pair were identified as 64-year-old Robert L. Strode of Hardin and 61-year-old Michael W. Thorn of Benton.

Strode is said to have been found with methamphetamine, marijuana, and mushrooms. He reportedly had an earlier conviction for meth possession.

Thorn was reportedly caught with marijuana and a firearm. He was determined to have a prior felony conviction, which prohibits him from possessing a firearm.

A medical condition meant that Strode was just cited for possession of meth, marijuana, and a hallucinogen and then released. Thorn was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.
