One man airlifted after head-on crash with RV in Mayfield

One man was airlifted to Nashville after his car crashed head-on into an RV in Mayfield.

The crash happened around noon on Monday on the Dick Castleman Bypass between TD Jones Drive and Badger Drive.

Mayfield police determined that 33-year-old Jerry Groves of Paducah lost control of his vehicle and veered into the oncoming lanes.

The vehicle struck a Winnebago RV belonging to 66-year-old Kevin Davisson and 69-year-old Nancy Davisson of Machesney, Illinois.

The Davissons were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

Groves was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville with serious injuries.
