A burn ban was issued for three southern Illinois counties since the weekend.
Pulaski County was added to the list on Monday. According to Pulaski County Sheriff Randy Kern, the burn ban is until further notice, due to an increased amount of brush fires and overall dry conditions. Low humidity this week is adding to the situation.
Other Illinois counties with burn bans are Perry County and Franklin County.
In Kentucky, the only active burn bans are at the eastern end of the state. However, it is officially the spring forest fire hazard season in Kentucky until April 30.
During fire seasons, it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
