State and local officials have been assessing what future investments would be required to repair and maintain the golf course located about 15 miles east of Princeton, which is reportedly the least used in the Kentucky State Parks system.
A final decision on the Pennyrile golf course has not been made and all options are being explored, but officials say it would require $2-3 million to bring the course back up to standards after persistent problems with washouts and erosion in an area prone to flooding.
WPKY reports that if the golf course was to be closed, its one full-time employee would reportedly be moved into a similar role at the park or at another state park course.
