A former juvenile corrections officer has been charged with criminal abuse in a case involving inmates at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police opened an investigation at the behest of the Department of Juvenile Justice after a pair of incidents occurred back in October. According to troopers, two male inmates were subjected to excessive force which caused arm fractures in both young men.

The reports allege that 30-year-old Tyler G. Lynn of Paducah, who was a captain, was the corrections officer in both cases.

KSP presented the case against Lynn to a Grand Jury on February 28th and they charged him with two counts of criminal abuse.

Lynn was arrested on March 6th and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
