A Murray man has been arrested in connection to a burglary and assault that occurred last week in Hazel.

On Friday, December 20th, 41-year-old Rick A. White allegedly forced his way into a home in Hazel. Calloway County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived, White was gone. The residents told them that when they tried to get White out of the home he assaulted them. They said that White had been criminally trespassed from the home home earlier. Deputies reported that White was uncooperative with the investigation, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

White was reported to be at an apartment belonging to 41-year-old Kimberly Puckett on Diuguid Drive Christmas Day, but when deputies went to the door they got no answer. They staked out the apartment and when they saw White and others leaving, they approached. White saw them and fled back inside. He was allegedly hiding when deputies got into the apartment. He resisted, but was eventually arrested. Puckett was arrested, as well, as she allegedly tried to stop White's arrest. She was also said to have had drugs in her possession.

White was served the warrant for burglary, assault, and criminal trespassing in addition to fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest. Puckett was charged with meth possession and hindering prosecution.
