A welfare check turned into the arrest of a Murray man on assault charges.

Calloway County deputies were called Monday to a home on Seth Lane at 8:45 pm for a welfare check. Deputies said they were attempting to assist EMS to render needed medical aid when 47-year-old Jody D. Tucker became combative, injuring two of the deputies. 

Tucker He was transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital and admitted for issues unrelated to the physical altercation. He was given a citation with a court date for assault 3rd degree of a police officer and resisting arrest. 

The two deputies that were injured where checked at the emergency room and released to full-duty.
