Two Paducah men were arrested Thursday after an anonymous tip about a fugitive
prompted a drug trafficking investigation.

Earlier this year, detectives from the Paducah Police Department Drug Unit received information that 49 year old William T. Hayes was trafficking in controlled substances. They were able to determine that Hayes was trafficking fentanyl and were able to secure indictment warrants for his arrest.

Detectives were made aware of his location in the 1700 block of Clark Street through an anonymous tip and, while investigating this information, detectives were also able to determine that 43 year old Brandon Shelton was trafficking marijuana from the same Clark Street residence .

On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search, detectives located Hayes, over 11 ounces of marijuana, and a loaded .40 caliber pistol.

Hayes and Shelton were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
