Murray man charged with assault, strangulation after altercation escalates

A Murray man was arrested on Friday after a verbal altercation turned physical.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, a verbal altercation between 20-year-old Kristian Lawson and another individual reportedly became physical. Lawson allegedly pushed the other person to the ground and began to strangle them, causing the person difficulty breathing.

Lawson was arrested and charged with assault-domestic violence and strangulation.
