Murray Police investigating false shots fired report related to assault

Murray Police are investigating what they have determined is a false report of shots fired related to an alleged assault.

Shortly before midnight on Saturday, officers responded to an assault report. As they headed to that call, an additional call to 9-1-1 indicated that shots had been fired at the scene.

According to their investigation, no weapon was fired. At this point, police have begun an investigation into the false report.

Murray Police are not releasing any additional information at this time.
