Two Metropolis residents were arrested following a domestic disturbance Saturday.

Metropolis police said they wre called to a residence in the 600 block of East 7th Street where the victim told officers the offender had left,

She said 27 year old Sidney S. Adams was intoxicated and playing loud music in his vehicle parked in the driveway.  

When she went to check on him, she observed Adams communicating with another woman. When confronted, he exited the vehicle and pushed her to the ground. Her children while on the porch witnessed this event. 

She fled into the house with the children locking the door and he broke his way in. Adams again shoved her and threw a chair. He also punched and broke the glass in the front door and he was leaving. 

Adams was located at his parents house, in the 400 block of E. 6th. He was arrested and started fighting with the officers. 

His mother, 59 year old Sheila M. Adams, also began fighting with the officers and interfering with the arrest of Sidney Adams. 

A taser was deployed on Sidney Adams and he was taken into custody but still struggling. 

Sheila Adams continued fighting with the officers and was also taken into custody. She was charged with obstructing justice and resisting arrest and released on a notice to appear. 

Sidney Adams was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
