A motorcyclist died in an accident Sunday afternoon on Interstate 24 in Oak Grove.
Kentucky State Police said they received the call just after 1 p.m. Sunday about a motorcycle crash that also involved a guardrail and a tractor-trailer.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes just past exit 86. Troopers investigating the crash said that a sportbike, driven by 28-year-old Alan Gonzalez of Oak Grove, merged onto eastbound I-24 from US 41-A. Gonzalez reportedly lost control and crashed the bike into the guardrail. The driver came off the bike, which then slid into the path of an eastbound semi driven by 43-year-old Deangelo D. Miller of El Dorado Union, Arkansas.
Miller was not injured, but Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner.
I-24 was blocked for about six hours as a result. The crash remains under investigation by KSP Accident Reconstructionists.
