A months-long investigation by drug detectives led to the arrest of a McCracken County couple on drug and gun charges.
Detectives said they learned that 48-year-old James “Jay” White was selling large quantities of meth. The investigation led to a search of White’s camper on Husbands Road.
Because detectives knew White had an extensive criminal history, they used the Sheriff’s Office’s Special Response Team to take White into custody. He was found inside the camper with a loaded .45 caliber handgun. He was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives located 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine inside White's pants pockets along with additional ammunition. During the search of the property detectives located additional methamphetamine and marijuana.
In 2006 White was charged with shooting and killing his then-pregnant wife in Ozark, Missouri. White has prior convictions for possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in cocaine, and he was currently out on bond for a prior arrest in Graves County.
White was charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in meth and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Deputies also arrested 27-year-old Tiffany Houser for possession of meth and marijuana.
