The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a public meeting in Hickman County on Thursday, Dec. 12, to update the public on upgrades planned along US 51 in the city of Clinton.

The project in the preliminary design phase calls for improved pedestrian access from downtown Clinton to the Farmers Market.

Displays at the meeting will show options for sidewalks and multi-use paths, as well as options for improved parking around the courthouse. The funding budget would see the project start in the summer of 2026.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hickman County High School.  The open house will allow attendees to view exhibits and ask questions about the project.

Comment sheets will be available for those who want to provide feedback to help with the planning process.

For anyone who is unable to attend the meeting, displays will be available starting on Dec. 13 at the KYTC District 1 Office in Paducah.
