Paducah Mayor George Bray has been named to serve on the Kentucky Nuclear Energy Development Authority.

Mayor Bray was appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to represent mayors from cities that the state defines as energy communities. Bray is set to serve until November 19th, 2028. Elliott County Judge-Executive Myron Lewis and Aron Patrick who heads research and development for LG&E/Kentucky Utilities were also appointed. 

The Kentucky Nuclear Energy Development Authority was created through the passage of Senate Bill 198 in 2024. Senator Danny Carroll of Benton sponsored the bill to spur the possible development of a nuclear energy facility in Kentucky.
