Metropolis woman arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

A Metropolis woman was arrested on Wednesday and is facing drug charges after the car she was riding in was stopped by police.

A K9 officer with Metropolis Police stopped a vehicle on Catherine Street for a violation. The driver, 40-year-old Ronald Hoyle of Mayfield, was driving on a suspended license according to a computer check. The K9 then hit on the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle. A backpack belonging to the passenger, 43-year-old Jennifer L. Evans of Metropolis, reportedly contained methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Hoyle was cited for driving on a suspended license. Evans was arrested and taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
