McCracken County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Paducah man and a Hopkinsville woman at 3:30 Sunday morning on Wayne Sullivan Drive. The deputies charged them with first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and of drug paraphernalia.
Twenty-nine-year-old Alyssa C. Barton of Hopkinsville was the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet car and 36-year-old Timothy N. Barry of Paducah was a passenger, when deputies initiated a traffic stop.
During the investigation, deputies discovered that Barton and Barry were in possession of quantities of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, digital weight scales, and other drug paraphernalia, according to the Sheriff's office.
Further investigation at the jail revealed that Barry had concealed 8.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a small quantity of marijuana on his person, the sheriff's report said.
Court records show that Barry's criminal history is extensive and he currently is out of incarceration on parole for prior meth trafficking and burglary charges from Christian County.
Deputies arrested both Barry and Barton and transported them to the McCracken County Regional Jail. Assisting on the scene were a Paducah Police officer and his partner K-9 Joker.
