McCracken County Sheriff's Office releases 2024 traffic accident stats

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office released data concerning traffic accidents worked in 2024.

According to a social media post, they investigated 869 collisions, of which 211 involved injuries and 11 resulted in fatalities.

Ninety four of the accidents worked took place on US 45, with 54 of the accidents happened on US 60, 52 of the accidents occured on I-24 West while 48 accidents took place on I-24 East. 

It was also noted last year, the top human factor noted in the accidents was inattention.  Weather accounted as a factor in 144 accidents.
