Now that the city of Mayfield has opened its newly built Fire Station Number 1, the Mayfield police department will soon also be on the move.

In his weekly "Mayfield Minute" video, city projects planner Justin Carrico revealed that over the next two weeks, the police will move into the now vacant building that the fire department was using during their construction. The plan is for the police department to remain in that location until its own new facility is completed.

Carrico said that as residents watch the move take place, they should be assured that there will always be an officer that you can reach during the transition. A non-emergency number is in place to be used at any time, at 270-856-3721. In case of an emergency, you can of course dial 911.
