Two Mayfield men were arrested Tuesday on drug and firearm charges.
An undercover drug investigation by the Graves and Marshall County Sheriff's Offices led to a search warrant for a residence located in the 500 block of West Farthing Street in Mayfield.
During the investigation, cocaine had been purchased from a suspect at the residence that had been identified as being 21-year-old Trevier L. Barnes.
Barnes and 23-year-old Tyus M. Jackson were taken into custody at the residence. As officers were making entry into the home, Barnes was attempting to flush cocacine down the toilet.
Cocaine, multiple sets of electronic scales, over 1/2 pound of processed marijuana, over $6,000 in cash, and other related items were found.
In addition, three loaded semi-automatic handguns were seized, and two long guns.
One of the semi-automatic pistols, a 9mm Smith and Wesson was found to have been reported stolen to the Paducah Police Department. The pistol reportedly had been stolen from a parked car on Monroe Street in Paducah on July 15, 2024.
Both men were taken to an out of county detention center and the investigation is continuing.
