A Mayfield man, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, led Graves County deputies on a pursuit on Sunday.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office got the call about what was described as an extremely impaired driver near KY 58 and KY 131. When they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled north on KY 131.
The driver, 40-year-old Christopher Duggins of Mayfield, allegedly threw an empty liquor bottle out of the car window during the pursuit.
Duggins stopped his vehicle in a driveway but would not get out of the car and surrender. Deputies tried to get him into custody, but Duggins resisted and a Taser was used.
Duggins was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center because of his level of intoxication. He was admitted to the hospital after it was determined that he had "consumed dangerously high levels of alcoholic beverages."
Duggins faces charges of driving under the influence fourth or greater offense with aggravated circumstances, fleeing or evading police in a vehicle, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle as well as other traffic offenses.
