Mayfield man arrested on gun, drug charges

A Mayfield man was taken into custody Tuesday on gun and drug charges.

Mayfield Police said 18-year-old Mario Rosas-Casteneda was found in possession of a loaded pistol, what was thought to be cocaine, marijuana and items used to transport illegal drugs near a Mayfield business after hours.

Investigators recovered a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol with a 30- round extended magazine. 

Charges include possession of a controlled susbstance, possession of marijuana and alcohol intoxication, which were enhanced due to the firearm. 

Rosas-Casteneda was lodged in the McCracken County Detention Center.
