A Mayfield man was arrested on Friday afternoon after allegedly taking a pickup truck belonging to the Bardwell Fire Department.

Bardwell Mayor Phillip King and Deputy David Hutchinson both called the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office after seeing a pickup owned by the Bardwell Fire Department pull out of the station driven by an unknown man.

Hutchinson, who also works for the City of Bardwell, joined Mayor King in following the truck until other deputies arrived and stopped it.

The driver of the truck was identified as 30-year-old Corey Garrow of Mayfield. Garrow allegedly told deputies he was borrowing the truck to get home to Mayfield.

A search of Garrow and the truck turned up a jump box that Garrow reportedly admitted to taking in case the truck didn't start. It was also reported he had lock pick tools on his person.

Garrow was charged with theft by unlawful taking (vehicle), burglary, and possession of burglary tools.
