Mayfield man arrested after police find loaded handgun, drugs

A Mayfield man was arrested on gun and drug charges on Monday. 

Graves County deputies stopped a vehicle on South 16th Street, and a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun was seized. They also uncovered a bag that tested positive for methamphetamine, and 8 ounces of a white crystalized substance that did not field test positive for meth but is believed to have been used as a cutting agent for the drug. 

Deputies arrested 26-year-old Shautres T. Tyler for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of meth.

Tyler reportedly has previous convictions including wanton endangerment, assault and trafficking.
