During the 54th annual Governor's Breakfast Tuesday, Governor Andy Beshear awarded the 2022 William Cooper Faith and Community in Action award to teachers of Marshall County Schools for their efforts following the December tornado.
Marshall County Superintendent Steve Miracle said this is just another blessing bestowed upon a resilient community that came together after the storm.
"Our teachers, everybody in our community really came together, said Miracle. "I know from the teacher perspective it's just the instinct of a teacher and educator to serve the community and those who live in Marshall County."
The William Cooper Award is given annually to a Kentuckian who works tirelessly to serve the community.
