A Marion man was arrested following a pursuit through McCracken and Marshall Counties last week.
Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted when a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Hopkinsville was said to be speeding along I-24 out of McCracken into Marshall County. Both departments had attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as 43-year-old Everette Tabor of Marion, refused to stop. As deputies tried to box Tabor’s vehicle in, he allegedly used it to hit one of the cruisers.
The vehicle was said to have been clocked at speeds over 100 miles per hour before exiting the interstate. After he exited, deputies were able to use a PIT maneuver to get the vehicle stopped and arrest Tabor. Following his arrest, Tabor’s vehicle was searched, and deputies said they located a syringe along with a glass smoking pipe that allegedly contained methamphetamine.
In addition to those charges, Tabor had active warrants for absconding from parole supervision, failing to cooperate with a Parole Officer, and failing to report an address change. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is also adding charges of receiving stolen property and possessing a stolen vehicle.
