Illinois Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton will tour southern Illinois on Thursday and Friday.
The trip is in support of her dual role as Chair of the Governor's Rural Affairs Council. The trip will highlight economic initiatives and celebrate historical landmarks. Stratton will announce grant awards, meet with mayors and business leaders, and participate in workforce development discussions.
On Thursday, she'll announce a grant with the Delta Regional Authority at Southern Illinois Airport in Murphysboro, and meet with the Black Chamber of Commerce in Carbondale.
Friday morning starts at Vienna High School for the "One Shawnee Summit," to discuss revitalizing the Ohio River and Shawnee National Forest regions. Her trip will end with a stop in Metropolis that afternoon.
