Livingston Sheriff's Office investigating capsized boat near Smithland riverfront, seeks help from the public

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office on Thursday responded to a report of a capsized jon boat discovered near the Smithland riverfront.

Upon arrival, deputies initiated a coordinated search effort alongside Livingston County Emergency Management, focusing on the surrounding waters and shoreline.

At this time, the owner of the boat is unknown, and it is unclear if anyone may be missing in connection with the incident. 

Search and investigation efforts remain ongoing.
