Lifeline Recovery Center broke ground on Monday for their new women's campus to battle addiction in McCracken County and western Kentucky.
Construction of the facility on 45 acres at Old Highway 60 adjacent to Barkley Field will begin immediately and is expected to be finished in 18-24 months. The women’s campus will include a new chapel, housing, dining, educational, counseling and administrative space.
Organizers said this will increase their client capacity by 40 percent over the current facility on Morgan Lane..
The new women's campus was announced in June at the center's annual banquet celebrating the 20th year of the organization that had previously launched a men's campus two years ago.
A $13 million fundraising campaign continues, which will cover $7 million for the purchase of the already-outfitted men’s 45-acre campus in Ballard County, and purchase and construction of the new women’s campus, as well as $3 million to grow the staff and $3 million for an endowment for financial sustainability.
The campaign began in 2023. Organizers said $11.6 million has already been raised. Plans are to complete fundraising by 2026.
Lifeline Recovery Center describes itself as a Christ-centered recovery program for those dealing with life-controlling addictions. The program is credited with serving more than 2000 people since 2004.
