KSP implements CARE effort this Thanksgiving weekend

Triple A said 49 million people are expected to travel this Thanksgiving holiday weekend with Wednesday expected to be the busiest travel day.  

Kentucky State Police will be on the roadways for its Operation Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort or CARE.

The operation aims to write “lifesaving” citations, including tickets for speeding, distracted driving, and for not wearing a seatbelt.  

Troopers will also be seeking those using cell phones, driving in the left lane and drowsy driving.

If you're on the roads this weekend, expect to see troopers in medians on parkways and interstates throughout the region.
