Joint drug investigation nets three arrests

Three people were arrested following a joint drug investigation between the Graves County and McCracken County Sheriff's offices.

A warrant was served Tuesday afternoon at a home near Baker Drive and Crittendon Lane in Mayfield on. Three people were inside the home, along with evidence of an alleged drug trafficking operation.

Deputies reportedly seized crystal methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, scales, packaging material, and other items.

The resident, 58-year-old Thomas J. Downs was arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernailia.

The others in the home, 56-year-old Cheryl D. Palmer of Graves County, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance, while 23-year-old Tyler D. Palmer of Hickory was arrested on a bench warrant from Graves County for failure to appear in court. 

Cheryl Palmer was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail. The men were transported to the Calloway County Jail.
