All lanes are open at the I-24 Ohio River Bridge in Paducah at the Kentucky-Illinois state line.
Over the last two weeks, motorists experienced lane restrictions on and nearing the I-24 Ohio River Bridge in alternating directions due to bridge inspections and brush cutting projects.
Inspections are typically conducted in March during odd-numbered years, but the Illinois Department of Transportation is preparing for a three-year rehabilitation project on the I-24 Ohio River Bridge, set to begin in the spring of 2025.
In a collaborative effort, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is working alongside IDOT to prepare drivers on the Kentucky side of the river for the upcoming extended work zone.
