Highway crews begin to pre-treat roads for anticipated icy travel

With winter weather expected this weekend, crews with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet began pretreating state highways on Wednesday afternoon.

Snow and ice crews will be applying a salt brine mixture to roadways beginning with primary routes and moving down the priority list.

Motorists are urged to use caution while the highway trucks are moving slowly during the application process.
