A high-speed pursuit through portions of Paducah ended with one suspect in custody.

Multiple police agencies were involved in the pursuit that saw speeds reach a reported 102 mph on I-24. Officers began the pursuit in the area of Park Avenue and 21st Street. They continued out Park Avenue toward High Street and into the mall area. Police are said to have been informed that the driver of the fleeing vehicle could be armed and dangerous.

The chase entered I-24 headed westbound, but the driver doubled back at exit 3, Cairo Road. Sources told West Kentucky Star that the pursuit passed back over Hinkleville Road at approximately 102 mph. The driver exited on US 62 near WKCTC and stop sticks were used to try and slow the vehicle.

The pursuit was ultimately terminated at Brown Street and Irvin Cobb Drive after the fleeing suspect rear-ended another vehicle. The driver was taken arrested by Kentucky State Police.

The incident is still under investigation and more details will be passed along as they become available.
