A Florida man has been arrested on forgery charges after allegedly stealing credit card information.
Paducah Police were notified by bank employees on Friday that someone was accessing accounts through local ATMs. Detectives discovered that 39-year-old Vern T. Fulton of Miami Gardens, Florida, was reportedly utilizing a scanning tool to capture credit card information. During discussions with bank staff, information came into the bank showing that a flagged account was being accessed through an ATM off Irvin Cobb Drive.
Police are said to have found Fulton at an ATM and in possession of several forged cards, over $1,000 cash, and a credit card scanner. Their investigation found numbers from multiple accounts, which Fulton reportedly encrypted to cards for use to withdraw money from the stolen accounts.
Fulton was arrested and charged with forgery, unlawful access to a computer, and use of a scanning tool to obtain payment card information.
