A series of public meetings begin this week to discuss the future of the Paducah Main Street program.
The purpose of the meetings is to discuss whether Paducah Main Street should move toward becoming an independent non-profit or stay under the banner of the City of Paducah. The organization is calling on business owners, stakeholders, and others in the community to join in the discussions into the future direction of downtown Paducah. The first meeting will take place on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Maiden Alley Cinema.
“The downtown of Paducah is a true gem for our community. We have a great opportunity to rethink how to continually improve the downtown area through enhancements in our Main Street program," said Main Street Board Member David Wilkins. "We’re asking the community to please attend one of these information sessions to learn about the options and provide direction to the city on their priorities and approach.”
The second meeting will also be at Maiden Alley Cinema on November 20th at 6 p.m. A third meeting will take place at Barrel & Bond on Broadway on December 4th at 9 a.m.
Paducah Main Street is a program charged with supporting and maintaining the history of downtown while also promoting economic development.
