Head-on Pope County crash claims one life

A head-on crash Saturday in Pope County claimed the life of one person and injured two others.

According to the Pope County Fire Protection District, the accident happened on Highway 145 near Lusk Trail Campground.

Two people from one of the vehicles were flown to an area hospital with injuries. One person in the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for almost four hours for accident reconstruction.
