The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled an open house on Thursday, Apr. 17, to update the public on planned improvements for downtown Mayfield as the streets and utilities are rebuilt after the 2021 tornado.
The City of Mayfield has been awarded $31.5 million in funds to rebuild, including a $25 million RAISE grant, to revitalize its downtown streetscape, Broadway and other areas. Plans include upgrades to roadway design and flow, utility infrastructure, as well as enhancements to safety and connectivity for a more pedestrian and cyclist-friendly downtown.
The open house will be held 5 to 7 p.m. in the Graves County High School gym.
Attendees can view exhibits and maps, talk to KYTC staff and project team members and ask questions about the project. There will be no formal presentation.
Comment sheets will be available for those who want to provide feedback on the project.
