A Hartford, Kentucky man was arrested last week in Metropolis trying to sell "weed."

Metropolis Police were called about the man witnesses said was allegedly trying to sell marijuana near the Humma Apartments.

Officers found 41-year-old Allen S. Joiner nearby. Joiner reportedly told officers the marijuana was for him and he wasn't selling it.

Joiner was arrested on a meth possession warrant issued in Massac County. A search of his belongings is said to have uncovered a "white powdery substance," drug paraphernalia, and a pistol near his bike. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Joiner was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
