Rescheduled groundbreaking set for new Mayfield fire station

The City of Mayfield Fire Department posted on Tuesday that the groundbreaking event for the future Fire Station 1 has been rescheduled for Monday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m.

The original fire station was destroyed, along with most downtown facilities, in the 2021 tornado.

The groundbreaking for the new 18,000 square foot facility was originally scheduled in June but had to be postponed.

The ceremony will take place at 115 Kings Drive.

The public is invited to attend.
