Graves couple faces charges in theft investigation

A Graves County couple faces charges in connection with a theft investigation.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said they received reports of thefts at an automotive business just north of Mayfield during the night.

The owner told investigators various auto parts and other items were stolen from outside the business. Surveillance footage showed the suspects taking items and loading them in the bed of a pickup truck.

Two suspects were identified Wednesday after assistance from the public. Investigators found them at a home in the Farmington area.

Deputies said both suspects admitted to their involvement in the thefts. A third suspect seen in the surveillance video was identified but is still being investigated.

Fifty-one-year-old Jason L. Jones was charged with theft by unlawful taking. Thirty-nine-year-old Misty N. Jones was cited but not arrested due to a medical condition.

The property that was stolen had already been sold, so investigators could not return the items to the victim.
