Mayfield man jailed on Calloway drug charges

A Mayfield man was arrested early Tuesday morning in Calloway County on drug charges.  

The Calloway County Sheriff's Department said 37-year-old Michel E. Gouin was arrested around 1:30 am at a Peeler Road residence.  Gouin was found to have several syringes containing what was believed to be an illicit drug.  

The syringes were said to be in a location that was accessible by a small child that was present in the home.

During his arrest, Gouin reportedly began yelling and attempted to pull away and resist.

Gouin faces numerous charges including posession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor and resisting arrest.  

He was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.
