Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, April 21, in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier, who died in a training exercise.

Twenty-seven-year-old Sgt. Isaac J. Gayo, of Los Angeles, Calif., died March 29 when his HH60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed in Trigg County, during a routine training mission. He was assigned to 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell.

Funeral services take place Friday.

Gov. Beshear encourages all individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in the tribute. Additional flag status information can be found at governor.ky.gov/flag-status.
