Golconda man sentenced to prison for child pornography

A Golconda man was sentenced to 9 years in prison for child pornography charges Tuesday in Pope County Circuit Court.

According to Illinois State Police, 20-year-old Kaleb Schutt was arrested in August of 2021 after an Internet Crimes Against Children search of his home.

Schutt was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, a class X felony.

According to the Pope County State’s Attorney, Schutt will also serve at least 3 years of mandatory supervised release. He must register as a sex offender for life and pay a $3,000 fine.
