Georgia man charged after Metropolis truck stop incident

A Georgia man is facing an aggravated assault charge following an incident at a Metropolis truck stop on Thursday.

Metropolis Police were called to Acee’s Truck Stop for an altercation. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, an employee that stated that she was involved in an argument with 51-year-old Audrey S. Canty of Covington GA and that Canty pulled a gun out of the vehicle and threatened her.

Officer searched the area and found the vehicle hat Canty left in. The handgun was found inside the vehicle. 

Canty was charged with aggravated assault and released on a notice to appear.
