The franchisee that owns the Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers store in Paducah has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

M&M Custard, LLC owns the Paducah store, and the company said all will remain open. A spokesperson for M&M Custard, LLC assured West Kentucky Star, “The Paducah location is NOT closing.  There are NO future closings associated with this reorganization.  It's business as usual for our 31 locations, our associates, and our customers.”

According to WKDZ, M&M Custard, LLC, based in Overland Park, Kansas, filed for reorganization and restructuring in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas on Friday. The company is said to have listed $5.2 million in assets along with $27.7 million in liabilities.

The company owns locations in Paducah, Hopkinsville, Owensboro, and Evansville. Newsweek cited KCTV, which noted that the company has stores in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
