Rider on horseback struck by vehicle in Pope County

A woman was hospitalized after a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a woman on horseback in Pope County on Saturday.

According to the Pope County Sheriffs ofice, the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. along Highway 145 near Eddyville.

They said a woman was riding a horse near the Bear Branch campground area when the collision took place.

The woman was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

No other information was released as of Sunday.
